Welcome to The Mandate
What the heck is this? Why should I care? You've got questions, I've got answers. Let's get vulnerable.
Today I'm officially launching The Mandate.
The Mandate is a show about men's mental health, masculinity, and identity. I host weekly chats with people about topics like anxiety, depression, burnout, parenting, loneliness, love, relationships, and so much more. My goal is transform the lives of millions of men by empowering them to embrace and strengthen their mental and emotional well being. And in doing so, we will positively impact the lives of those they care about the most in their families, organizations, and communities.
My latest interviews for The Mandate have talked about "coming out" in a lot of different ways. From coming out with a new product, coming out and sharing your feelings, and coming out about your sexuality. I love the act of coming out, and even after doing it a ton, I still get nervous.
The show isn't perfect, but it's good enough. I don't have all the episodes edited, but I have enough. I don't always like the way I talk and how much I say "um", but I'm good enough. I'm shit at video and audio editing, but it's good enough.
I am enough, the show is good enough to get out into the world, and so are you. If you can't tell, one of my themes for this year is "enough".
If you head over to www.mandateshow.com you'll find my first three episodes. There are 6 more on the way. You can listen to them on Spotify and Stitcher (Apple is coming soon). You can watch them on YouTube. Some day I might have transcripts!
The first episode features me talking about my mental health and why I started The Mandate. The second episode is with Jonathan Domanus about how we learn to be men. The third episode is with Oratio Thomas on how he went from being a workaholic with anxiety to finding a life filled with more purpose.
I'm going to build this as much as I can in public. You can follow along for updates, invites to upcoming live shows, links to newly released episodes, and the best insights and tips I can muster.
Shoutout to everyone who has supported me over the last two months to get this off the ground. I'm beyond grateful for your support, patience, questions, love, and encouragement.
